Just a heads-up. I was debugging a boost gauge issue and decided to make sure I wasn't just in safety boost. I forced the car into safety boost by disconnecting the ECU temp sensor at the front of the engine. Boy was that thing really corroded! Sprayed it with contact cleaner overnight and scraped off the crud with a small bladed screwdriver and some sand paper. It was probably just a matter of time before connectivity was lost which results in safety boost as well as the auxiliary radiator fan kicking in full time.
